Stephen Peter Hughes
is part
of the Christopher Ministries ministry team. Stephen will be 18 years old
in November of 2008 and for the past 4 years has made an effort to work
with Christopher Ministries whenever and wherever he has been needed.
Stephen is a passionate young man with a love for life. At the age of 6,
Stephen was beside his mother volunteering with MADD and sharing his story
of survival with DUI offenders in Central Florida. In recent years, he
has participated in grief support groups for children called “Grief Care
for Kids”. Stephen’s personal losses have been traumatic but he always
maintains a positive attitude about the future. He reaches out to those
that experience loss and as he has said on many occasions, “sometimes
being there for them and not saying much is enough”. Well stated.
Foreign missions have always been something Stephen has wanted to
participate in. In January of 2008, Traci’s brother Walter Stephens, a
medical doctor, who had been a medical advisor for Christopher Ministries
developed another ministry within the Christopher Ministries organization
called Christopher Ministries Medical Missions. Stephen had the
opportunity to join his uncle in Honduras, Central America in July of that
year. Once again, sharing the God of comfort with hurting people.
Stephen graduated from high school in May of 2009 and is
praying about the direction God will have him go professionally. He
begins college this fall.
